Birds of Prey would fit under that heading- though I'm not sure as a few of the sim elements were stripped out if I remember right- not sure which ones.
Market focus and technical considerations are probably the main reason you don't see more flight sims on the consoles, but there's probably nothing stopping developers from creating 'sim-light' flight sims anytime. It's probably more a market consideration than anything. Faced with Hawk X and DCS: A10C Warthog on the shelf at the local gaming store, I imagine most would go for Hawk X.
I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more console sims. Birds of Prey became a great PC WWII sim in Wings of Prey- so there are potential benefits to the sim community as a whole.
My first ever bought TV! Great images, though I've quickly discovered, not perfect, since it suffers from 'clouding' and 'flashlighting' when presenting a dark image in a dark room. I thought LCD's were beyond this kind of thing by now...
A friend of mine actually had her whole house burned down after an electrical fire caused by her portable vacuum cleaner (it was plugged into the charger at the time). I forget what model it was now!
Many are having poor performance issues, and apparently the sound is a bit pants in some views (can't tell here because no speakers on the computer I'm on).
We bought the cm1's for 1250 US, around about 750 pounds. Bloody expensive yes, but it has to be said- these are really beautiful sounding speakers. During audition, I walked into the listening room and some music was playing, the cm1's were set up with another pair of massive floorstanders next to them. The sound was so full that I actually mistook the sound as coming from the floorstanders... it was coming from the cm1s.
This new system is a bit of an upgrade from our old one, which we recently had to sell off quickly. When we're feeling brave again- we'll add a sub. But the cm1s really kick out a fair bit of bass for their size.
Couldn't find a proper recording of the Concierto de Estio on Youtube, but I thought I'd link to this live captured performance anyway as I really enjoy it as well. Some time I'll upload the version I have here at home, which comes from this collection
Might be nice if they could implement something like the control system used for combat in Mount & Blade (here, eg). Simply being able to use magic in one hand and a weapon in the other doesn't sound enticing enough by itself as an evolution in combat. They really need to make things feel different in a number of key areas otherwise I can imagine that a lot of the people who have already put way too much time into the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games may lose interest fairly quickly.
Yep, totally. I don't blame the developers, and I admit that consoles have been great for the industry in general, not to mention the benefits to players in having that massively extended audience, the library of great console games which have made it over to PC, etc- but at the same time I don't feel the need to go out and buy a console just because a large percentage of stuff is being produced for that market. I'm just happy when the market that I represent (by accident of having a PC and not a console) is catered for. It's also nice when a console developed title actually goes some way towards adding PC specific features when ported to PC. I'm sure something must exist in reverse where some PC developed titles are made more console friendly when ported to those platforms. That Rage is being produced for the smart phone market as well as for the cutting edge PC market, is very cool, imo.
Yeah- I'm not trying to sound snobby or anything, it's just that I don't own a console and playing console oriented games on PC sometimes doesn't translate so well, BC2 being a good example imo.
